Brian Logan Retains the AWA World Heavyweight Wrestling Championship
July 9th, 2008
Author: AWAMWA.COM

Just before Intermission in the 2008 Revolution in the Park (July 4th) Afternoon Event in Parkersburg, WV Brian Logan came out to the ring and started making a speech about how he was going to beat "Buff" Bagwell in the center of the ring.  Then Bagwell immediately came out to the ring to confront Logan.  The situation between Logan and Bagwell has been extremely volatile and personal for many years now.  Logan claims that he and Bagwell where once next door neighbors when both men worked for WCW.  While Logan was out on the road he claims Bagwell had an affair

with his now ex-wife.  During the Main Event on July 4th, 2008, Death Falcon Zero and "The 7ft. Monster" Jason came out to the ring to help Logan after the referee had been incapacitated.  With the help of DFZ and Jason, Brian Logan Defeated Bagwell via pin fall.  Bagwell then challenged Logan to a NO Disqualification Match as the Main Event for the following night in St. Marys, WV.  After a brutal hard fought contest, Brian Logan hit his Superkick and defeated WCW Superstar Buff Bagwell via pin fall in the middle of the ring to retain the AWA World Heavyweight Championship.  Weather you love him or hate him, these two huge victories validates Brian Logan's claim that he is truly the best wrestler in the world today.

"Buckhannon to Host AWA Sanctioned Event"
By BEN SIMMONS, Staff Writer
Published June 21st, 2008

Bodies will be bruised and bloody and fans will cheer on the carnage as superstars of the AWA Sanctioned Mountaineer Wrestling Association make a stop at the National Guard Armory in Buckhannon on June 28. The event features a match for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship, along with several other bouts.

AWA World Heavyweight champion “The Disciple of Wrestling” Brian Logan will defend his title against “Snakeman” Deven Michaels in the main event. The two have been locked in a bitter feud for the past six months. At one point, Logan stole Michaels’ snake and Michaels had to win it back in a “snake on a pole” match.

“Basically he was the top guy in the company and then I came there,” Logan said. “I decided I was going to beat the hell out of him. He likes to put that big snake on people, but I’m not intimidated. I ended up stealing his snake and I told him if he wanted it he would have to come and get it.”

Logan said they have been involved in several bloody battles including a taped fist match and a Texas death match. The match in Buckhannon will be the first time the two have faced since Michaels got his snake back and this time it will be for the World Heavyweight title.

“He’s going to get hurt,” Logan said. “In fact, I might just eat his snake. I may bring a Fry Daddy to the ring, hook it up to an extension cord, plug it in and fry that snake up nice and crispy. I’ll eat that snake right there in front of everybody.”

Logan became the champion on April 18 in his hometown of Fayetteville after pinning Larry “The Living Legend” Zbysko in a three way title match, which included “The New Generation Ace” Ricky Landell. Zbysko held the championship since 1990.

Saturday’s event will be Logan’s first trip back to Buckhannon since his days in Mason Dixon Wrestling from 1996 to 1999. Logan also performed in the WWE from 2000 to 2003 as a member of the “Disciples of Synn.” During that time he was known as “Disciple Damien.” Logan’s career took a brief detour after a show in Oak Hill, W.Va. where he ended up hitting a fan and going to prison.

“Basically I hate everybody,” Logan said. “I am the most non-people person you will ever meet. I’d just assume knock someone’s teeth out then look at them.”

Logan’s arch rival, Michaels, of Punxsutawney, Pa., has been wrestling for about 7 years. He was trained by his uncle, former WWE superstar Jake “The Snake” Roberts. As a tribute to Roberts, he carries a 14-foot snake named Jezebel to the ring with him.

“Brian Logan is a low down, no good, cheating son of a gun,” Michaels said. “The man has never legitimately beat me without cheating. He’s either had somebody help him or he’s used chairs, foreign objects or what not. Every time I have successfully hit him with the DDT, he’s lost.

“The last time we faced each other, I left him bleeding profusely. I’m surprised he actually wants to wrestle me again. The people of Buckhannon are going to witness the most intense 20 minutes of their life. They are going to see me stomp him from one side of the building to the other. Brian is not going to walk away a happy man,” Michaels said.

Aside from the AWA World Championship match, other bouts scheduled include a match for the MWA heavyweight championship that features champion Death Falcon Zero defending his title against Wildcat; Lord Zoltan taking on Devin Devine; and a tag team match featuring AWA shooting star champion M.E. Howerton and “Genuine” Jock Samson teaming up to challenge the Pink Panther and Alley Cat.

The Mountaineer Wrestling Association (MWA) is a sanctioned territory of the AWA and The MWA was originally formed in June of 2007 when New Breed Wrestling out of Parkersburg and West Virginia Wrestling Alliance out of St. Marys merged to create the new company.

Promoter Mike Howerton said American Wrestling Affiliates doesn’t claim to be either Verne Gagne’s AWA or Dale R. Gagner’s AWA. He said they have started a new AWA based on Brian Logan capturing the original AWA World Heavyweight Championship from the then-champion Zbyszko. The American Wrestling Affiliates currently has six territories including one in Canada.

Howerton said the promotions plan to exchange talent to give a broader base of work to those individuals. He said it would also give the promotions the opportunity to develop their own talent on a national level.

This will be accomplished by having the recognized World Champions defending their championships in towns locally promoted by each territory.

Advanced tickets can be purchased for the June 28 event at the National Guard Armory in Buckhannon online at
www.awamwa.com for $8. Tickets at the door are $10. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the bell rings at 7 p.m. The card is subject to change.

M.E. Howerton Officially Announces He Is Running for President of the AWA in 2008
March 18th, 2008
Author: AWAMWA.COM

M.E. Howerton has had a very distinguished political career so far in his life, at only age 28.  In 2003,  Howerton founded and was elected as the first chairman of the WVU at Parkersburg Chapter of College Republicans, and was also elected WVU-P Student Body Vice-President.  In 2004, He served as WVU-P Student Body President and graduated with  his Bachelor's Degree.  Immediately after graduating he was employed as a staff member for the Bush'04 re-election campaign.  Also in 2004, Howerton was Elected Vice-Chairman of the Wood County, WV Republican Party.  In 2005, He was employed by the West Virginia State Senate as a Political Analyst.  Howerton was elected Chairman of the Wood County, WV Young Republicans and was appointed as a Regional Political Coordinator for the West Virginia Federation of Young Republicans in 2006.  Most recently, in January of 2008 he was elected Vice-Chairman of the West Virginia Federation of Young Republicans.  There was much speculation in the political ranks as to what office Howerton would seek next.  Many thought he would be running for a Seat on the Parkersburg City Council in 2008.  However, his continued political successes has made him see a much bigger opportunity to seize real power within the American Wrestling association.  On Saturday March 15th at the Parkersburg City Park Pavilion M.E. Howerton officially announced that his is running for President of the AWA. Many are saying that this young man's quick rise in political power has gone to his head and he has simply become  a self absorbed ego-maniac.  Howerton is currently planning trips to all of the AWA territories in order to campaign for the Presidency of the American Wrestling Association.

Brian Logan and Death Falcon Zero
Cross the Line in St. Marys, WV
January 28th, 2008
Author: AWAMWA.COM

On Saturday January 26th, 2008 in St. Marys, WV Brian Logan and Death falcon Zero truly crossed the lined between entertainment and pure despicable behavior.  As the show started Wildcat was still out at the merchandise tables signing autographs when Brian Logan interrupted the start of the show demanding the microphone.  He then called out this "friend" Death Falcon Zero to join him in the ring.  Logan told the St. Marys crowd that he served his prison sentence in the correctional facility 3.9 miles down the road from the Marina is St. Marys, WV.  He told the crowd that he went to jail for beating a woman and she got what she deserved.  He then told DFZ that he was proud of him because on January 19th at the Parkersburg Eagles Death Falcon beat up a woman and was actually able to get away with it.  That woman was Wildcat's wife.  Wildcat then tried to charge the ring but was held back by security while Logan and DFZ continued to brag about beating his wife.  These two low lives need to be stopped and taught a lesson.  Wildcat and "Snakeman" Deven Michaels are just the men to do it.  Click the links below to witness the surreal  video of their vile actions.  What will they do next in Parkersburg at the Pavilion on February 2nd?

The AWA-MWA Undisputed Heavyweight Title Match on January 19th, 2008 at the Parkersburg Eagles between Wildcat and the Champion Death Falcon Zero was thrown out after DFZ knocked Wildcat out of the ring and pickup Wildcat's wife, Seductress, and body slammed her right in the middle of the ring. Then proceeded to drop a big elbow on her and left her lying in the ring.  Wildcat came in to help is wife who was lying lifeless in the middle of the ring. Death Falcon has gone too far this time. He has no respect for anything. All he wants to do is hurt people and take them out. He first lit fire in Brandon Morgan’s face back in September at the City Park Pavilion trying to blind him and now this. DFZ is completely out of control and needs to be stopped. Wildcat took Seductress to Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, WV last night after the show. She suffered a concussion and neck injury at the hands of DFZ. Our hearts and Prayers go out to Wildcat's Family and wish Seductress a quick recovery.

The First Ever AWA-MWA Undisputed Champion Will Be Crowned at Holiday Havoc! December 1st, 2007
Author: AWAMWA.COM

On December 29th 2007, in the Parkersburg City Park Pavilion, at Holiday Havoc, Four men will compete in three punishing matches; Two Champions will walk in and One of these four men will achieve true greatness by becoming the first ever AWA-MWA Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.   The Appalachian Heavyweight Championship has been the main title belt in the WVWA since its founding in 1996 and the current title holder being the fan favorite veteran Wildcat.  On the other side of the coin, the popular rising star, Brandon Morgan has held the NBW Heavyweight Championship since their first show in April of 2007.  Since WVWA and NBW merged in June of 2007 to form the AWA-MWA, the new company has recognized both heavyweight champions.  However, that is all about to change on December 29th, 2007!  Don't miss one moment of the action!

The first match of the evening will be for the WVWA Appalachian Title.  The Champion Wildcat will defend against Wes "The Best" Lynch in the opening bout.  Wes Lynch makes up 1/2 of the tag team "The Lynch Boys", with his brother "Awesome" Allen Lynch.  The Lynch Boys recently made it to the finally round of the AWA-MWA Tag Team Tournament at Parkersburg South High School during the Rampage Tour with the match ending in a controversial decision. The Champion will be accompanied to the ring by his wife and manager Seductress, while Wes "The Best"  will be represented by Sir Owen.  Wildcat is a fifteen year veteran and master of the squared circle, and just coming off a big victory in Mannington, WV last month against the Legendary "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton to regain the Appalachian Title.

The second match of the event will feature the NBW Heavyweight Champion Brandon Morgan defending his title against Death Falcon Zero.  Since May of 2007, with the aide of his manager, former NBW Commissioner Professor Danger, "The Siamese Super Man" Death Falcon Zero has been on a quest to capture the NBW Heavyweight Title.  Professor Danger and Death Falcon Zero have made this personal by trying to permanently injury Brandon Morgan on several occasions.  The worst example of the reckless behavior was on September 29th, 2007 when Danger and DFZ tried blinding Morgan when they ignited a flame in Morgan's face, right in front of the referee.  Can Morgan hold on to is coveted title one more time or will Death Falcon Zero take one more step up the latter in his obsession for power in the AWA.

The evening's Main Event will be Champion vs Champion, Title for Title.  After winning their first matches, the two victorious and exhausted grapplers will have to dig down deep inside to see if they have what it takes to achieve greatness.  Both Titles will be on the line for this spectacular match, in which one of these four men will walk out the first Undisputed AWA-MWA Heavyweight Champion!

Huge Tag Team Title Re-Match Scheduled
December 1st, 2007
Author: AWAMWA.COM

VS

The first meeting between the current AWA-MWA Tag Team Champions American Assault and the Lynch Boys occurred during the final round match of the AWA-MWA Tag Team Tournament on the October Rampage Tour at Parkersburg South High School.  With the double 3-count controversial decision by Senior Official John Reuben giving the victory to American Assault, should make this a very explosive situation between the proud Champions and the Challengers who feel they were wrongly cheated out of the Titles.  This tremendous re-match is scheduled to take place as the Semi-Main Event on December 29th, 2007 at Holiday Hovac!

The Lynch Boys, with their manager Sir Owen, showed pure dominances thoughout the entire tournament to earn there spot in the Championship Match.  In their first round match The Lynch Boys gained a decisive victory over the Crazy Carnies, starting their momentum.  On October 12th, 2007 in Glennville, WV, they continued to build their intensity with an impressive victory over the Ninjas.

American Assault, however, had an entirely different journey.  Howitzer entered the tournament with is original partner Johnny Hard, which made up the former AWA-MWA Tag Team Champions Heavy Artillery.  Heavy Artillery won their first round match against Real Ohio Talent.  After that match Johnny Hard disappeared, and still to this day no one knows where he is.  Howitzer then had to face the day brothers in the semi-final round by himself.  Howitzer barely snuck by with the win after Jock Sampson accidently hit Shawn Day with a steel chair.  The night of the final round match, the Lynch Boys came out and took credit for Johnny Hard's disappearance and jumped Howitzer form behind in the ring.  DJ Skittles ran out to the ring to save Howitzer and offered to stand by his side and be his partner in the Championship Match.

The crowd, at Parkersburg South High School, was on there feet for the entirety of this nearly 30 minute tag team battle.  Sir Owen and The Lynch Boys pulled out all of the stops during the struggle.  Both teams got a pin fall at the same time, however the match was awarded to American Assault.  The Lynch Boys have demanded a re-match and they are going to get it at Holiday Havoc!  This should prove to be a 5 star tag team extravaganza with the AWA-MWA Tag Team Championships on the line.

Jerry Bishop Injury Update!

"The Kinpin of Sin" Jerry Biship, 1/2 of Real Ohio Talent, was injured in the Triple Triple Threat Tag Team Title Match at the AWA-MWA show on November 10th, 2007.  Bishop was knocked unconscious for a short time.  EMT's on the scene took Bishop to a local hospital for examination to determine the extent of his injury.  The fans in attendance showed overwhelming concern for Bishop has he was taken out of the building.  We here at the AWA-MWA wish Jerry Bishop the very best in his recovery and hope that he returns to action soon to do what he loves, which is entertain you the fans.

Jerry Bishop posted the following message to his fans on his myspace page:

November 10th AWA-MWA show

For those who know and those who don't.

This past Saturday at the AWA-MWA show in Parkersburg, WV at the very end of my match I took a move and got knocked out. There was suspicion that it may have been a neck injury.

I was carted off in a stretcher, loaded up in an ambulance, and sent to a nearby hospital.

I would like to say publicly. That a lot of times in wrestling some people tend to blame others when cases like this happen. But I am NOT blaming ANYONE. It was an accident, and it happened, those are the risks that we take when we step into the ring.

Fortunately, I am ok, my neck is a little jarred. And I think everything came up fine in the CAT scan. I feel a little drowsy at times but other than that I am okay.

And I would like to thank all the guys in the AWA-MWA locker room and it's owners Mike Howerton and Greg Shriver for showing their concern. As well as the fans. And I will hopefully be back in the ring at their next show which is aimed towards December.

Sincerely,

Jerry Bishop

"Ladies and Gentleman, I have some sad news to report, I just received a call letting me know Charles Milliser aka "the scufflin hillbillie" JR Hogg passed away this weekend.  There are no details available as of this time.  JR was a living legend in professional wrestling from the BoBo Brazil era.  He had been involved in wrestling since he was 18 and traveled the world. This man helped train some of the wrestlers that are working now like HBK and his nephew JT Hogg. God be with Mr. Milliser and his family and we will miss you!"

The AWA-MWA wishes the entire Milliser family the very best in dealing with their loss.  There will be a benefit show for his family held in Lancaster, OH sometime this month to help them pay for his funeral costs.  JR Hogg was also a personal friend of Wildcat, who has been deeply saddened by the loss.

AWA Zero-1 United States Championship Re-Match

And

Two Tough Matches for the WVWA Appalachian Title

And

AWA-MWA's October Rampage Tour was jam packed full of amazing AWA action and fans were kept on the edge of their sets.  Not only did the Tour host the semi-final and final round of the AWA-MWA Tag Team Championship Tournament, but it was also home for a great Re-Match between NBW Champion Brandon Morgan and AWA United States Champion Ricky Landell for the AWA U.S. Title as well as two classic matches between the Legendary Midnight Express's "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton and Wildcat as they battled for the WVWA Appalachian Heavyweight Championship.

Saturday October 13th saw the third match-up between NBW Champion Brandon Morgan and the AWA United States Champion Ricky Landell.  Morgan put up valiant efforts in their first two encounters, but was unable to capture the United States gold on either occasion.  Landell brought Brad Thomas to the ring with him for some added insurance against a determined Brandon Morgan.  After a vibrant back and forth struggle Ricky Landell pulled tapped up brass knuckles out of trunks.  Brad Thomas distracted referee "Tiny" Tim Patterson while Landell took a swing at Morgan.  Morgan blocked the loaded punch and fired back with a vicious blow of his own.  Landell dropped the brass knuckles and Brandon Morgan pick them up and used them, laying out the United States Champion with one punch.  Morgan then made the cover; the referee turned around, saw the cover, and made the three count.  Morgan hid the brass knuckles underneath his arm and was announced the new AWA United States Champion while holding his newly won belt in celebration.  When ref "Tiny" Tim raised Morgan's hand the brass knuckles fell to the mat.  Brand Thomas and Ricky Landell then showed "Tiny" Tim the foreign object that fell from Brandon Morgan and the decision was reversed with Ricky Landell retaining his United States Title.

Wildcat and "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton engaged in two epic battles for the WVWA Appalachian Heavyweight Championship.  The stage for the first match was set at Parkersburg South High School in Parkersburg, WV.  Wildcat's nemesis JW Idol was not in the building that night, but his brother and manager Braggin' Brian Fury was there and accompanied Bobby Eaton to the ring.  Fury went after Wildcat's wife Seductress and while Wildcat was being districted Eaton rolled him up in a school boy for the pin, becoming the new Appalachian Heavyweight Champion.  The rematch occurred the next night in Mannington, WV.   It was another great struggle between these two competitors.  However, this evening would not end as well for "Beautiful" Bobby as it did the night before.  The Legendary Bobby Eaton had to surrender his newly won Appalachian Heavyweight Title after Wildcat got the pin.  Wildcat and Seductress celebrated their victory and regaining of the title with the ecstatic AWA fans in Mannington.

The AWA has once again proven to provide its fans with the vary best in Wrestling and Entertainment.  Do not missed an exciting, action packed, moment of the American Wrestling Association.  We hope to see you all at our next live event at the City Park Pavilion in Parkersburg, WV on Nov. 10th, 7pm bell time, were you will see Death Falcon Zero w/Professor Danger face Brandon Morgan in a special re-match for the NBW Heavyweight Title, pus many more of your favorite AWA Stars.

New AWA-MWA Tag Team Champions
October 18th, 2007
Author: Sir Owen

And

The AWA-MWA Tag Team Tournament is in the books and  brand new champions were crowned, in the unorthodox tandem of Howitzer and DJ Skittles. Now one may wonder just how did DJ Skittles end up a champion after not even being in the tournament? Well it started when Johnny Hard disappeared after Heavy Artillery defeated Real Ohio Talent's team of "The Kingpin of Sin" Jerry Bishop and Ryan Phoenix to move past the first round on August 10th at the City Park Pavilion. This left Howitzer without a partner for the remainder of the tournament so on the September 29th show, Howitzer received some help with a surprise appearance from "Violent" Vance Desmond against Bishop and Phoenix in a non-tournament match.  On that evening two tournament matches took place as The Lynch Boys led to the ring by Sir Owen defeated the new team of The Crazy Carnies. The other match that evening saw the former champions, The Day Brothers, defeat Team G.A.Y. as NBW Commissioner Professor Danger promised to name the final team in the tournament at a later date.  As the Rampage Tour started Johnny Hard was still no where to be found, with the Lynch Boys taking credit for Hard’s absence, and Howitzer still needing a partner.

October 12 in Glenville, Howitzer managed to hold off The Day Brothers when their manager for the evening "Genuine" Jock Samson cost them the match when he accidentally hit Shawn Day with a steel chair to send, the WVWA Commissioner, Howitzer into the finals without a set partner. Also that night, The Lynch Boys won their tournament match by defeating The Ninjas, who where Professor Dangers last minute addition to the tournament. This set up a final at Parkersburg South High School's Rod Oldham Athletic Center to crown the new champions. The question, just whom would Howitzer find as his partner, would be answered early in the show as Allen and Wes Lynch pulled a surprise attack on Howitzer. DJ Skittles then hit the ring to check on the battered Howitzer and this new team was formed. During the match, it was a great back and forth encounter. The Lynch Boys attempted to finish off DJ Skittles with their combination Superkick and Side Russian Legsweep finisher.  At the same time Allen, who was not the legal man, went for the pin on DJ Skittles Howitzer rolled up Wes for the 3 count. Owen grabbed the belts thinking The Lynch's had won but had them taken from his hands in protest and the referee handed the titles to DJ Skittles and Howitzer. The following night in Mannington, the new champions had their first defense in a hard fought battle against The Days. It remains to be seen just how long they will remain champions as the Lynch Boys will be wanting a rematch, plus there is an AWA-MWA roster packed with teams wanting an opportunity.

Local Professional Wrestling Alive and Well

PARKERSBURG — While far removed from their former days of glory, regional wrestling circuits are alive and well, including one based in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

A group keeping professional wrestling going locally is the Mountaineer Wrestling Association formed last year by the merger of two wrestling groups, New Breed Wrestling in Parkersburg and the West Virginia Wrestling Alliance based in St. Marys.

Mike Howerton, co-owner of new MWA with Greg Shriver, said the group is affiliated with a national group, the American Wrestling Association, which allows it to bring in wrestlers for programs along with some locally based grapplers.

Shriver, who wrestles at “The Wildcat,” has been involved in professional wrestling since 1993.

“I’ve wrestled with the USWA (United States Wrestling Association), the NWA (National Wrestling Association) and the WWE when it was the WWF,” he said.

When he started, Shriver said it was possible to make a decent living as a wrestler with the various regional circuits that dotted the land, but as one group grew to dominate the field and the smaller regional circuits began to fade he said the ability to make a living that way faded as well.

“In the late 1990s that began to change — before it was possible to be in shows four to five times a week,” he said.

In his time Shriver wrestled with some of the greats of the field like Jerry “The King” Lawler, The Italian Stallion and The Undertaker when he wrestled as Brian Anthony.

Howerton, who wrestles as “The Howitzer,” is part of the tag team known as Heavy Artillery, with Johnny Hard. They were the tag team champions of the AWA-MWA until they lost in a match with the Day Brothers earlier this summer. However, they may have a chance at regaining their title in the fall.

“They have been stripped of the titles and a tournament is in progress to determine who the champions will be,” Howerton said. “The new champions will be decided in a show on Oct. 13 in the City Park Pavilion.”

Howerton said one area they like to focus on with the AWA-MWA is to help non-profit organizations such as schools.

Recently a show was staged that was a fundraiser in Marion County for the North Marion High School football team.

“In those we do a 50-50 split on the proceeds with the sponsoring organization and the sponsor also gets all the money from the concessions,” he said, adding the group is looking for opportunities to do more shows closer to the Parkersburg area.

“We have been speaking with local school organizations about shows,” he said.

Howerton said they are also working on getting a weekly show on television through the local cable access channel on CAS Cable.

Howerton, who during the week is an assistant supervisor at Exel Inc. and is the chairman of the Wood County Young Republicans, said that while some shows such as those seen on television are scripted, the MWA may have a fixed result, but what comes in between the beginning and the end is not part of any script.

“Many say professional wrestling is fake, but it isn’t; when you hit that mat the pain is real,” he said. “It is fixed, but it’s not fake.”

Howerton said he may spend an entire Sunday in bed recovering from shows that took place Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He has been injured a few times when a slam is done wrong or a thrown punch manages to connect in the face.

Howerton said the training facility, known as the AWA-MWA Wrestling University, is located in a former garage near the corner of Eighth and Avery streets in Parkersburg.

“We have guys who come up to us and say they’d like to wrestle, but after one or two training sessions we may never see them again,” he said. “They are amazed at how much it can hurt and how hard they have to work.”

September 6th, 2007

After their tainted victory over Heavy Artillery at the Summer Apocalypse show on July 20th, the Day Brothers were contractually obligated to defend their titles in a rematch with Heavy Artillery within one month.  The day Brothers had two opportunities to defend their titles in a rematch at the When Worlds Collide Show on July 21st in Mannington, WV and at the August Explosion show on August 10th in Parkersburg, WV.  The absent NBW Commissioner Professor Danger appointed Sir Owen Acting NBW Commissioner for the August Explosion show.  When the Day Brothers Did not show up at the August 10th show, Acting NBW Commissioner Sir Owen stripped them of their titles for violating their contract, because of failure to defend in the before mentioned rematch.  The next AWA-MWA show is not scheduled to take place until September 29th 2007, which would place them in violation.  Sir Owen then announced a Tag Team Tournament to establish New AWA-MWA Tag Team Champions.  The first Tournament match took place on August 10th in which former champions Heavy Artillery defeated Jerry Bishop and Ryan Phoenix in a First Round Qualifying Match.  Two More first Round Matches are scheduled for September 29th at the City Park Pavilion in Parkersburg, WV.  The Tournament is scheduled to conclude with new Champions being crowned during the AWA-MWA Rampage Tour 2007 on October 12th, 13th, and 14th.

New WVWA Appalachian Heavyweight Champion

On Friday July 20th 2007, at the St Marys Marina, Wildcat defeated JW Idol to become the new WVWA Appalachian Heavyweight Champion.  After 6 long months of battling Idol, Wildcat's hard work and persistence finally paid off.   While Wildcat was celebrating the victory in the ring with his friends Howitzer, Johnny Hard, Buddy Car, and Deven Michaels,  JW Idol and his manager, 'Braggin' Brian Fury,  kidnapped Wildcat's wife Seductress.  He chased after them out of the Marina and was finally able to get Seductress back.  She appeared the next evening by Wildcat's side for the big show in Mannington, WV.  With emotions high the rematch will certainly be a must see event.

New AWA-MWA Tag Team Champions

Earlier that same night in the Marina, The Day Brothers faced Heavy Artillery for the AWA-MWA Tag Team Titles.  In only their second appearance in the AWA-MWA, David and Shawn Day took a short cut to the top of the tag team division by screwing Heavy Artillery out of their Titles.  Things were looking good for the defending Champions Heavy Artillery after they hit their finisher, Collateral Damage, on David Day.  When Howitzer went for the pin the Day Brother's  Manager, Just 'N' Kace, distracted Senior Official John Ruben; This allowed brother Shawn Day to attack Howitzer from behind with a low blow, throwing him out of ring, and  then laying out Johnny Hard from a shot to the back of the head with one of the Tag Team Title Belts.  Shawn then nailed Hard with a Frog Splash from the top rope for the 1,2,3.
